Jansen Luke Rigney - Broken Arrow, OK
Attorney | Trademarks, Brand Protection & IP Strategy
Hi, I’m Jansen Rigney, an intellectual property attorney at Black Dog Law in Tulsa. I focus primarily on trademarks, helping founders and growing businesses protect the names, logos, and brands they’re building through trademark clearance, USPTO trademark applications, and strategic guidance throughout the registration process.
My path to law wasn’t traditional. I started in the restaurant industry including management at Burn Co. BBQ, then worked in medical microbiology at Saint Francis, and later in a quality control engineering lab for Gulfstream Aerospace. That mix taught me discipline, systems thinking, and attention to detail, skills that translate directly to trademark prosecution, where small drafting decisions can have long-term consequences.
Responding to USPTO Office Actions is a central part of my practice. I regularly navigate likelihood-of-confusion and descriptiveness refusals, and a substantial number of those matters have ultimately proceeded to registration after response. Trademark outcomes depend on the specific facts, but I approach every refusal with a focused, practical strategy designed to move the application forward.
Outside the office, I’m an outdoors person at heart. I recharge by getting outside, on the water, on a trail, or anywhere away from a desk. That balance keeps me steady, and it’s part of why I enjoy working with builders, founders, and operators who are creating real things in the world.
If you’re looking for a Tulsa trademark attorney who will give you a candid assessment, a clear strategy, and steady follow-through at the USPTO, I’d be glad to help.
